Bilawal to especially address event in Lyari today to mark late Benazir Bhutto’s birthday: Saeed Ghani

The Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, will specially address an event being held in the Chakiwara area of Lyari on Friday (today) to celebrate the birthday of former prime minister late Benazir Bhutto.
The PPP Karachi Division is organising the event in Lyari to mark the 71st birthday of the late Benazir Bhutto.
Sindh Local Government Minister, Saeed Ghani, stated this while chairing a meeting here at the People’s Secretariat on Thursday. Ghani chaired the meeting in his capacity as the PPP Karachi Division President.
The meeting took into consideration arrangements for the event, mobilisations of the office-bearers and activists from all districts of Karachi to attend Friday’s public gathering and related issues.
Ghani informed the participants of the meeting that Lyari had been chosen as the venue of the event to mark Benazir Bhutto’s birthday as per the direction of the PPP Chairman.
He said that preparations had already been in full swing to organise the birthday event in a befitting manner.
PPP Sindh General Waqar Mehdi informed the participants of the meeting that activists belonging to the youth wing of the party and the Peoples Students’ Federation had been assigned the task of managing vehicular traffic for the birthday event. He said the vehicular traffic routes in the area on the event day had been notified,
PPP Karachi’s General-Secretary, Javed Nagori, stated that Lyari had taken on a festive appearance after the announcement of the public gathering in the area. He added that the PPP’s activists were eager to participate in the event.
PPP District South President, Khalil Houth, said the activists and office-bearers of the party from every union committee in the district had been fully involved in the preparations underway for the public event.
He said the birthday celebrations would be a memorable public event like past large gatherings of the party at the same venue in Lyari.
Shaheena Sher Ali, representing the PPP Women Wing, said the mass contact drive had been launched to ensure that the female workers of the party would participate in the event in large numbers.
Karachi’s Deputy Mayor, Salman Murad, Rashid Khaskheli, presidents and general secretaries of PPP in all districts, and representatives of subsidiary organisations also attended the meeting.
