Seoul, South Korea – Hyra Basit, Senior Project Manager at the Digital Rights Foundation (DRF), participated in a panel discussion at the International Conference on Addressing Technology Facilitated Violence Against Women. The conference was jointly organized by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family of the Republic of Korea, Women’s Human Rights Institute Korea, and the UN Women Centre of Excellence for Gender Equality.
The panel focused on resisting technology-facilitated gender-based violence (TF GBV) through advocacy, data collection, and direct support services, such as the Cyber Harassment Helpline. Basit shared insights into the helpline’s work, which provides vital support to individuals experiencing online harassment.
The conference aimed to bring together experts and stakeholders to discuss strategies for combating TF GBV and promoting gender equality in the digital age.
