Thatta: Sindh Minister of Universities and Boards Muhammad Ali Malkani has said that the establishment of this beautiful Medical University Campus in a remote area like Thatta is a proof that Pakistan People’s Party keeps education especially medical education as one of its top priorities.
This he expressed while addressing the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Auditorium at Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMS) Thatta Campus.
While announcing the running of University Point bus from Sujawal to (Lums) Thatta campus for the convenience of students, he said that I am sure that the students of this campus will make their name famous not only in Pakistan but also in the whole world, and these talented medical students will also provide best medical facilities to the local population of Thatta. Mr. Malkani said that apart from medical, nursing classes will also be conducted in the campus soon.
He said that Pakistan People’s Party gives the highest budget for higher education in Sindh compared to other provinces. The Punjab government is giving 7 billion rupees for its 52 universities while Sindh government is giving 32 billion rupees for 30 universities, he added.
He requested the students of the campus that every student should plant a tree and adopt this tree during their studies and after four years there will be an occasion of joy and pride when they get their degree along with the fruit of their tree. Vice Chancellor Ikramuddin Ujan also addressed the ceremony.
Sindh Minister for Universities and Boards Muhammad Ali Malkani celebrated the independence of Pakistan with the students at Lums Thatta campus, hoisted the flag and cut the cake while the children speeches about the independence of Pakistan and also sang national songs. On this occasion, the Minister inaugurated the plantation in the university campus by planting a neem tree.
