Karachi There has been an increase in human rights violation complaints in Karachi, including the complaints child and women abductions, acid attacks on women, suicide, sexual assault, murder, and sexual assault on girls aged 3-8. This was stated by the Sindh Human Rights Department at a review meeting chaired by Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi. The meeting was attended by Secretary Human Rights Department Sindh, Tehsin Fatima, all deputy commissioners, all SSPs and senior officers of the HRD department, and others. It was decided that the Human Rights Department would be provided with all possible information to effectively implement the government’s policy and efforts to protect human rights in Karachi. Three committees will be established in all seven districts of Karachi, headed by Deputy Commissioners, to provide information and coordinate on human rights issues. Human rights complaint desks will also be established in the offices of Deputy Commissioners, and a human rights WhatsApp group will be created to ensure immediate contact between Deputy Commissioners, police, and the human rights department.
