Federal Cabinet Recommends Inclusion of PTI Leaders in ECL
The Federal Cabinet Sub-Committee on Exit Control List (ECL) has proposed placing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, along with his wife Bushra Bibi, Zulfi Bukhari, and Shahzad Akbar on the no-fly list.
Inclusion of 41 Names in ECL, NAB's Request Heeded The sub-committee, chaired by Caretaker Interior Minister Sarfaraz Bugti, met to deliberate on the matter, recommending the inclusion of 41 individuals in the ECL. Notably, among the 29 names linked to the £190 million case, PTI chief Imran Khan, his wife Bushra Bibi, former special assistant Zulfi Bukhari, and ex-advisor Shahzad Akbar were specifically highlighted. The committee also suggested removing 13 cases from the ECL, following judicial directives.
The caretaker federal cabinet will now review and make the final decision based on these recommendations.
£190 Million Settlement Case Unfolds: Imran Khan's Allegations Imran Khan, the PTI chairman, faces corruption charges in connection with a case involving a property tycoon, with the alleged misappropriation causing a £190 million loss to the national exchequer.
The charges assert that Imran and other accused individuals adjusted £190 million sent by Britain’s National Crime Agency (NCA) to the Pakistani government. This amount was part of an agreement with the property tycoon.
The accusations also include receiving undue benefits for establishing Al Qadir University.
The investigation reveals a complex web of transactions involving the seizure of assets, the establishment of trusts, and the transfer of land.
Imran Khan's approval of the settlement with the UK crime agency without disclosure has added layers to the case, now under the scrutiny of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
