On the central call of Awami Tehreek, a series of protest demonstrations has begun across Sindh against corporate farming, canal construction, and the looting of natural resources. As part of this campaign, a protest rally was organized in Qambar, led by Advocate Sajid Hussain Mahesar, Central General Secretary of Awami Tehreek; Comrade Ghulam Mustafa Chandio, Central President of Sindhi Haari Tehreek; District President Imdad Pathan; Vice President Irfan Manan; General Secretary Mehboob Rahujo; Abdul Nabi Brohi; Sagar Mushtaq; Mohsin Raza; Maqbool Rahujo; Mukhtiar Rahujo; Allah Bakhsh Mughiri; Muneer Mangarhar; Ahmed Nazir Magsi; A.K. Chandio; and others.
Speaking on the occasion, leaders said that the rulers of the Pakistan Peoples Party are betraying the nation by selling off Sindh's land and rivers to secure their own temporary political interests. Awami Tehreek, being at the forefront, has been presenting the case of the Sindhi nation, raising awareness in villages, towns, and cities. Through peaceful political struggle, the people of Sindh have achieved victories against the exploitation of their water and resources. The leaders vowed to bury all projects related to new canals and corporate farming.
They further stated that Sindh has been turned into a hub for bandits, where people are looted and killed daily, with police, feudal lords, and bureaucrats acting as facilitators of criminals and gangs. To rid Sindh of these calamities, the people must become more organized and continue their political struggle for their rights.
During the rally, there were strong chants against land auctions, the construction of new canals, the restriction of freedom of expression under the PECA Act, unjust distribution of water and finances, settlement of non-locals, tribal terrorism, and rising lawlessness.
