The Sindh Government is paying special attention to the vaccination programme to protect human lives

Sindh Minister for Energy, Planning and Development Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has said that, on the instructions of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the Sindh Government is paying special attention to the vaccination programme to protect human lives. He said that the tragedy of our society is that whenever a good programme is launched, a particular group starts negative propaganda.
He expressed these views while addressing a Rabies Awareness Programme at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. Executive Director JPMC Dr. Shahid Rasool, Professor Dr. Amjad Siraj Memon, Dr. Nosheen Razi, and Dr. Irfan Siddiqui also addressed the event.
Nasir Shah said that under KMC’s supervision, a Rabies Control Programme has been launched. Six centres are functioning in Karachi and rabies centres are also operational in all divisions of the province. Awareness programmes are extremely important; compared to the past, treatment is now much easier. People should not be fearful of rabies but should ensure timely treatment.
He added that vaccination of street dogs can help control this disease. Jinnah Hospital’s efforts are commendable; they have saved thousands of lives. He said that there will also be dog lovers in society who oppose the killing of stray dogs. Ms. Asifa Bhutto has initiated the vaccination programme.
Nasir Shah further said that the Pink Bike Scheme has been launched. Doctors, paramedical staff, and all personnel at Jinnah Hospital can benefit from this scheme. He stressed that our sisters and daughters should take advantage of this scheme.
