“Bhutto Lives On—An Era, An Ideology, A People’s Power”

Government of Sindh Spokesperson and Mayor Sukkur, Barrister Arslan Islam Sheikh, in his special message on the 47th death anniversary of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, said that today the nation pays tribute to a great leader, visionary statesman, and epoch-making personality who not only transformed the course of Pakistan’s politics but also awakened the people to the true power of democracy, dignity, and self-respect.
Barrister Arslan Islam Sheikh said that Shaheed Bhutto is not just a name but a comprehensive ideology, a revolutionary thought, and a symbol of historic struggle. He gave voice to the oppressed classes—workers, farmers, and the marginalized—empowering them and proving to the world that “the source of power is the people.”
He added that Bhutto’s extraordinary foresight and courageous leadership laid the foundation of a sovereign, strong, and dignified Pakistan. His historic decisions set Pakistan on the path to becoming a nuclear power, making its defense invincible and strengthening its global standing.
Barrister Arslan Islam Sheikh emphasized that although April 4 marked a dark chapter in history, Bhutto’s ideology continues to illuminate the nation, empowering the voice of truth and people’s sovereignty. He noted that the recent Supreme Court decision is clear evidence that history ultimately acknowledges the truth.
He further said that Bhutto’s struggle against feudalism and his efforts to secure the rights of the working class remain deeply embedded in Pakistan’s politics. For the new generation, Bhutto’s political journey serves as a complete school of thought and practical guidance.
Barrister Arslan Islam Sheikh stated that the people of Sukkur and Sindh salute their benefactor leader, renewing their pledge to carry forward his mission. He highlighted Bhutto’s role in uniting Third World countries to stand with dignity before global powers, a shining example in international politics even today.
He said that under the leadership of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the Pakistan People’s Party continues its struggle to fulfill Bhutto’s golden principles of “Food, Clothing, and Shelter,” keeping public service at the core of its politics.
Barrister Arslan Islam Sheikh concluded that the Bhutto family’s eternal sacrifices guarantee democracy, constitutional supremacy, and protection of people’s rights in Pakistan. Shaheed Bhutto, by sacrificing his life, refused to bow before dictatorship and set a shining example of truth and justice.
He prayed that Allah Almighty grant Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and bless us with steadfastness in continuing his mission.
