Mir Raza Murder Case: Strict Action Against Anyone Found Involved, Says Sindh IG

Sindh Inspector General Javed Alam Odho says strict legal action will be taken against anyone found involved in the Mir Raza murder case. He says police officers and personnel found responsible for negligence have also faced action. Further details in this report.

Sindh Inspector General Javed Alam Odho visited the Sindh Bar Council and the Sindh High Court Bar, where he addressed lawyers and spoke about the investigation into the Mir Raza murder case.

The Sindh IG said a new investigation team is probing the case and examining all aspects of the incident.

He said mistakes can happen, but anyone found involved in the Mir Raza case will face strict action in accordance with the law.

“The system will become stronger, and when the system is strengthened, incidents such as the siege of police stations and similar situations will come to an end. We will sit together, assess the merits of the case, and make decisions accordingly, in accordance with the law.”

Sindh IG Javed Alam Odho also visited the office of the Association of Builders and Developers, ABAD, where he rejected any pressure on police in the investigation of the Mir Raza murder case.

The Sindh police chief said the new investigation team had been tasked with examining the case from fresh angles and bringing the facts to light.

“Amir Farooqi is working on it, and we are confident that we will get positive results. Why did this happen, what can be done to prevent it, who was involved and who was not—finding these answers is our responsibility. God willing, we will not rest until we get to the bottom of it.”

Meanwhile, the chairman and members of ABAD briefed the Sindh IG on the challenges faced by the business community regarding extortion. The Sindh police chief assured them that efforts would be made to resolve these issues at the earliest.
