Traders and industrialists are the backbone of the national economy

Karachi,

Sindh’s Minister for Energy and Planning, Nasir Hussain Shah, has stated that traders and industrialists are the backbone of the national economy. He emphasized that the Sindh government, under the vision of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and the directives of the Chief Minister, is committed to a business- and industry-friendly policy.

He made these remarks while addressing a meeting of the Business Facilitation Coordination Committee (BFCC). The meeting was attended by prominent businessmen, including Shabbir Diwan, Saleem Parekh, Rehan Javed, Javed Bilwani, Ahmed Azeem, and others. Senior officials from K-Electric and Sui Southern Gas also participated.

During the meeting, there was a detailed discussion on the energy-related challenges faced by the business community and possible solutions. The Minister assured that concerns and complaints regarding electricity and gas would be addressed promptly. He further mentioned that President Asif Ali Zardari, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and the Chief Minister are taking a special interest in resolving industrial issues.

Nasir Shah urged the federal government to implement Article 158 of the Constitution, stating that if this article is enforced, the gas issue will automatically be resolved. He pointed out that the province producing the highest amount of gas is being supplied expensive gas for its industries.

He highlighted that the purpose of establishing the BFCC is to resolve the issues of industrialists and traders on a priority basis. The Sindh government will engage with the federal government on energy matters as a priority and develop concrete proposals through mutual consultation. President Zardari, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto, and the Chief Minister are fully prepared to support and assist industrialists and traders in addressing their concerns.
