Seven Honoured with Pakistan Wildlife Protection Awards 2025

ISLAMABAD, The Ministry of Climate Change & Environmental Coordination (MoCC&EC), in partnership with the Snow Leopard Foundation (SLF), has announced the winners of the Pakistan Wildlife Protection Awards 2025. These awards recognize outstanding contributions to wildlife conservation in snow leopard range areas.
Following a review of 21 nominations, seven individuals were selected:
- Snow Leopard Award: Muhammad Ismail (AJK)
- Musk Deer Award: Mehboob Shah (AJK)
- Blue Sheep Award: Sher Afgan Ali (GB)
- Brown Bear Award: Muhammad Raza (GB)
- Wolf Award: Sakhawat Ali (GB)
- Ibex Award: Israr Ullah (KP)
- Markhor Award: Muhammad Saleem (KP)
One award has also been reserved for a community initiative. A formal ceremony will be held later this month.
Minister Dr. Shezra Mansab Kharal praised the recipients as “unsung heroes of conservation,” while SLF Director Dr. Muhammad Ali Nawaz and other officials emphasized the importance of recognizing frontline efforts in protecting Pakistan’s biodiversity.
