Minister for Food Holds "Khuli Katchery" to Address Public Issues in Shaheed Benazirabad Nawabshah

* Provincial Minister for Food, Makhdoom Mehboob-u-Zaman, held an open court (Khuli Katchery) at the premises of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Shaheed Benazirabad, to resolve public issues.
* Citizens lodged complaints regarding non-construction of roads, lack of health facilities at Peoples Medical Hospital, absence of anti-mosquito spraying, non-conduct of dog culling campaigns, employment issues, and other problems.
* The Provincial Minister listened to each citizen individually and issued directives to the concerned officers for the resolution of their issues.

Provincial Minister for Food Makhdoom Mehboob-uz-Zaman stated that, on the special directives of Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, open Katchahries are being organized to resolve public issues at their doorstep. He expressed these views while addressing the open court held today at the premises of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Shaheed Benazirabad.
The open Katchahry was attended by Members of the Sindh Assembly Ghulam Qadir Chandio and Chaudhry Javed Iqbal; Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Division Shameer Khan Bhutto; Secretary Food Muhammad Bachal Rahpoto; Director General Food Shehzad Fazal Abbasi; Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Abdulsamad Nizamani; SSP Shabbir Ahmed Sethar; PPP District President Muhammad Salim Zardari; Additional Commissioner-II Syed Ammar Hussain; Director Information Muhammad Moosa Gondal; Mayor Qazi Muhammad Rasheed Bhatti; Chairman Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Dr. Asif Ali Memon; along with officers from various departments and a large number of citizens.
During the open Katchahry, citizens raised complaints regarding non-construction of roads, shortage of health facilities at Peoples Medical Hospital, lack of anti-mosquito spraying, absence of dog culling campaigns, employment issues, and other problems. The Provincial Minister listened attentively and directed the concerned departments to resolve the complaints.
While talking to the media on the occasion, Provincial Minister Makhdoom Mehboob-uz-Zaman said that resolving public issues is the top priority of the Sindh Government. He added that, on the special directives of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, all ministers and advisers are holding open courts in different districts of Sindh. He stated that he has been assigned the responsibility to listen to and resolve the issues of the people of Shaheed Benazirabad district.
Replying to a question, the Provincial Minister said that the Sindh Government currently has 1.25 million tons of wheat in stock, which is incurring heavy storage costs. Therefore, the government has approved the sale of wheat, and it will be sold soon at a better rate. He added that the Sindh Government will purchase wheat next year and will fix the support price.
The Provincial Minister further stated that Food Authority officers are conducting raids to check the quality of food items sold by bakery owners, hotels, and food vendors, and fines are being imposed. Shops repeatedly violating the law will be sealed after challan proceedings. Responding to journalists’ questions, he said that a food testing laboratory will be established in Nawabshah to check the quality of food items. He added that, as per law, one million metric tons of wheat stock must be maintained; therefore, the Sindh Government will purchase wheat next year.
During the open Katchahry, the SSP informed that traffic signals will soon be installed in the city, and an e-challan system will be introduced to control traffic and take action against violators.
