Jamshoro: Women’s Action Forum strongly protests abduction, rape, and murder of cloth seller Sabreen

In Jamshoro’s hilly area, 25-year-old Sabreen, daughter of Nizam Pathan, a resident of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and mother of three children, mysteriously went missing ten days ago while selling clothes. The family accused members of the Kosa community of abduction and lodged a report at Jamshoro police station, but despite the sensitivity of the matter, police failed to take timely and effective action.
Tragically, the woman’s tortured body was recovered. She was killed by being struck with stones on her face and head, and her face was mutilated to erase identification. Police and family members identified her through her clothing, and the body was shifted to the hospital for post-mortem.
The Women’s Action Forum (WAF) expressed deep grief and outrage over this horrific incident, condemning the criminal negligence and grave carelessness of the police in the strongest terms. The organization stated that silence and delay in cases of violence against women amount to denial of justice, which will never be accepted.
Demands
The Women’s Action Forum has called on the government and police authorities to:
1. Immediately arrest the culprits and bring them to justice.
2. Take strict action against police officials who showed negligence in this case.
3. Provide full protection, justice, and support to the victim’s family.
