Notices have been issued in two cases regarding the failure to renew expired passports. The Islamabad High Court summoned the Assistant Attorney General to the rostrum.
The court remarked: “We have already given orders in such cases before, so why are they coming again? You keep making us pass the same orders repeatedly—are we here just for this?” Justice Khadim Hussain added: “If institutions worked properly, why would people come to court?”
He further said: “Are we sitting here all day just to renew passports? No one comes to court happily; they only come when they are in distress.”
Justice Khadim Hussain emphasized: “If institutions start doing their job, people won’t need to come here.” Justice Khadim Somroo added: “People get relief from courts; if they stop getting relief, they won’t come anymore.”
