According to the Sindh Emergency Operation Centre, environmental samples in the province showed a significant decrease in polio positivity during the first six months of this year compared to last year.
Out of twenty-nine environmental samples collected in June twenty twenty-six, twenty-eight tested negative, with only one sample confirming the presence of the virus.
These promising monitoring results highlight remarkable progress in curbing polio transmission across Sindh. The EOC reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening surveillance, expanding vaccination coverage, and reaching every eligible child. Health officials urged parents, community leaders, scholars, and doctors to actively support vaccination campaigns and extend full respect and cooperation to frontline polio workers, whom they described as true national heroes.
