CCOE approves amendments to Pakistan Oil Refining Policy 2023

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a key meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Energy in Islamabad, approving major amendments to the Pakistan Oil Refining Policy 2023.
Emphasizing that upgrading oil refineries is crucial for national energy security, the Prime Minister noted that modernized facilities will boost local production capacity and reduce reliance on expensive fuel imports.
He instructed authorities to reform OGRA for better performance and strictly warned against any delays in policy implementation. Furthermore, PM Shehbaz Sharif directed relevant ministries to organize international roadshows across Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Gulf nations to attract foreign investments, while also calling for an urgent increase in the country's strategic petroleum reserves.
