Karachi, Sindh - Sindh Health Minister Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho inaugurated the Typhoid Conjugate Vaccine (TCV) campaign at CSS School DHA on May 13th, 2024. The campaign aims to vaccinate children from 9 months to 15 years old against typhoid fever, a preventable yet potentially life-threatening disease.
The launch event was attended by prominent figures, including Dr. Naeem Rajput, Program Director, EPI; Altaf Hussain Sario, Deputy Commissioner, South; Irshad Ali Sodhar, Coordinator, EOC Sindh; and Dr. Shumaila Rasool, Member, Core Team. The event was organized by Dr. Raj Kumar, District Health Officer, South, and his team.
During the event, Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho emphasized the importance of vaccination, urging parents to get their children vaccinated to protect them from typhoid fever. The campaign will run from May 13th to May 25th, 2024, and targets children from 9 months to 15 years old.
The school management was presented with shields in recognition of their support for the TCV campaign. This initiative is a significant step towards combating typhoid fever in Sindh, and the Sindh Government's efforts to ensure the health and well-being of its citizens are commendable.
