Karachi A harassment case involving a female professor at Sindh Madressatul Islam University has raised serious concerns over delayed decisions in such incidents within educational institutions. The professor from the Department of Environmental Science accused Assistant Professor Abdul Majeed Pirzada of harassment and officially lodged a complaint with the university’s Vice Chancellor.
Despite multiple investigative committees confirming the allegations and recommending major penalties, no action has been taken, leaving the victim without justice for months. The professor has now publicly appealed to Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, and Sindh Education Minister to take strict notice of the matter.
The female professor also alleged political pressure aimed at suppressing the case, further complicating the process. Documents obtained by press agencies confirm that two investigative committees verified the harassment claims, yet the administration continues to stall.
This delay has sparked concerns that a lack of decisive action may encourage similar incidents in universities. The professor, standing firm in her demand for justice, emphasized that swift and strict measures must be taken to protect women in academic institutions.
