Karachi Sports Gala 2025 Concludes with World-Class Competitions, Including Chess


Karachi  The two-day *"Jashn-e-Azadi, Maarka-e-Haq – Captain Raja Muhammad Sarwar Shaheed Nishan-e-Haider Karachi Sports Gala"*, organized by the Sindh Government, concluded magnificently.


The closing ceremony's chief guests, Additional Secretary Sports Asad Ishaq, Deputy Director Habibullah, and District Sports Officer Ismail Shah, distributed trophies, medals, and certificates among the winning athletes.  


The Sports Gala featured competitions in 11 different games, with enthusiastic participation from 1,500 boys and girls. According to a spokesperson for the Sports Department, in the boys' dodgeball competition, Jinnah secured first place while Sir Syed came in second. Among girls, Sir Syed took first place, with Jinnah in second.  


In fencing’s senior sabre category, Umar Siddiqui claimed first place, while Mahnoor Aftab triumphed in the girls' event. The spokesperson added that in the Under-10 chess category, Syed Wajahat Hussain won first place with 4.5 points, Hadiya Khan secured second with 4 points, and Muarab Farzan took third with 3.5 points.  


In girls' volleyball, Allama Iqbal emerged victorious, with Sir Syed in second place. Meanwhile, in boys' volleyball, Muhammad Ali Jinnah took first place, followed by Liaquat Ali in second. In the tug-of-war competitions, Muhammad Ali Jinnah's team won in the boys' category, while Liaquat Ali Khan's team triumphed among girls.  


Addressing the ceremony, Additional Secretary Sports Asad Ishaq stated, *"The 'Jashn-e-Azadi, Maarka-e-Haq' is not just a sports festival but a practical expression of love for the homeland, unity, and tribute to the unmatched sacrifices of Pakistan's armed forces. Seeing the energy and passion of the youth, I am confident that Pakistan's future is bright, and together, we will make it even stronger."*
