A Legacy of Light: Habib University Launches Sultana Siddiqui Scholarships to Empower Future Media Women

Habib University, in a heartfelt tribute to one of Pakistan’s most iconic media pioneers, launched the Sultana Siddiqui Scholarships for female students pursuing Communication and Design. Named after the President of HUM Network, the scholarships aim to uplift talented young women and help them carve their path in the world of media sciences.
The launch event was graced by distinguished personalities from diverse walks of life, all gathered to honor Sultana Siddiqui’s unwavering dedication and groundbreaking journey in Pakistan’s media industry.
Dr. Wasif Rizvi, President of Habib University, shared his thoughts:
“Through the Sultana Siddiqui Scholarship, we are not just supporting education—we are investing in dreams, in futures, in voices that will shape tomorrow.”
Sultana Siddiqui, visibly moved, addressed the audience with humility and hope:
“The girls who benefit from this scholarship will make it extraordinary—not just through their talent, but through their character and commitment.”
From the Habib family, Marzia Habib Hassan revealed a powerful statistic:
“55% of our students are women, and 40% of them are already on scholarships. This initiative strengthens our promise to support every deserving girl.”
Adding a personal touch, Manahil Duraid—International Business Development Lead at HUM Network and granddaughter of Sultana Siddiqui—spoke with emotion:
“My grandmother always taught us that if we work with passion and perseverance, nothing is beyond reach. Today, Habib University and HUM Network stand together in that belief.”
The event also featured a short film titled “Azm-e-Nau” (A New Resolve), chronicling Sultana Siddiqui’s inspiring journey—her battles, her breakthroughs, and her bold steps that redefined Pakistan’s media landscape.
As the ceremony drew to a close, Habib University presented Sultana Siddiqui with a commemorative shield, a symbol of gratitude and admiration for a woman who turned barriers into bridges.
