“Clean Water, Brighter Futures: Ultra Filtration Plant Inaugurated in Chiniot”

Saaf Suthra Pani Project: Nasreen Dad Foundation and Pakistan Solar Association Inaugurate Ultra Filtration Water Plant in Chiniot
Chiniot, Pakistan – The Nasreen Dad Foundation under its Saaf Suthra Pani Project, in collaboration with the Pakistan Solar Association, has inaugurated an ultra filtration water plant at Sheikhan, Tehsil Lalian, District Chiniot.
The inauguration ceremony was led by Afaaq Ali Khan, vice chairman of Pakistan Solar Association, and Ali Imran Dad, member of Nasreen Dad Foundation, along with their teams. Members of the Imam Bargah committee, local elders, and a large number of community members attended the event.
This initiative comes at a critical time when access to safe drinking water remains a major public health challenge in rural and flood affected areas of Punjab. Contaminated water is a leading cause of diseases such as cholera, typhoid, hepatitis A and E, dysentery, and severe diarrhea, particularly among children and vulnerable populations.
The newly installed ultra filtration plant will provide safe drinking water to more than 10,000 residents across surrounding areas including Sheikhan Adda, Sheikhan Sadat village, Shadi Pur, Adda Khoi, Jhlar Nathoo Shah, Natdyana Wala, Thatha Shah Jamal, Ratta Kalan, and nearby communities.
By removing harmful bacteria, viruses, and parasites from water, the plant will play a critical role in preventing the spread of water borne diseases, reducing child mortality, and improving overall community health. In areas affected by flooding, where water sources are often contaminated, such interventions are essential to break the cycle of infection and disease.
Speaking on the occasion, Nighat Dad, Founder of Nasreen Dad Foundation, said:
“Through our Saaf Suthra Pani Project, we are not just installing water plants, we are protecting communities from preventable diseases and ensuring that access to clean water becomes a basic right, not a privilege.”
Community members expressed deep appreciation, describing the initiative as a life changing intervention that will significantly improve daily life and health outcomes.
