Livestock Farmers in Sindh to Receive Animal Healthcare Services at Their Doorstep, Mohammad Ali Malkani
Karachi To provide livestock farmers in Sindh with doorstep healthcare services for their animals and protect them from various diseases, 65 mobile ambulances are being procured under the Sindh Livestock and Aquaculture Development Project, launched with the support of the World Bank.
This was stated by the Provincial Minister for Livestock and Fisheries, Mohammad Ali Malkani, who inspected a prototype of the mobile ambulance, manufactured by a local company , outside his office today. The minister reviewed the equipment installed inside the ambulance for animal healthcare. On the occasion, Livestock Secretary Dr. Kazim Jatoi was also present.
Addressing the meeting, Minister Malkani said that under the Sindh Livestock and Aquaculture Development Project, 65 mobile ambulances are planned to be procured through an open tender system for three wings of the Livestock Department , Livestock Animal Husbandry, Livestock Animal Breeding, and the Central Veterinary and Diagnostic Laboratory, Tando Jam , while the fourth will be allocated for the Fisheries Wing.
He added that the initiative aims to provide timely treatment and diagnostic facilities for animals at the farmers’ doorsteps, enabling immediate testing and care for diseases.
Minister Malkani emphasized that this project is a major step toward supporting Sindh’s livestock farmers, and the department is working tirelessly to make it successful.
