The meeting directed strict action against pollution-causing units and decided to take measures against illegal factories to eliminate air and water pollution.
It was decided to act against illegal marble factories on Warsak Road in Peshawar and in Malagori. According to the briefing, there are 235 illegal marble units on Warsak Road and more than 250 in Malagori.
Work has begun on an action plan to regularize the Malagori cluster under SOPs. The marble factories on Warsak Road will be shifted to the industrial park on Kohat Road.
The Chief Secretary emphasized that projects must be implemented strictly according to set timelines. He also directed the formation of a new framework for the marble industry in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
