Green Media Initiatives Launches Digital Environmental Magazine “Planet Voice” on World Environment Day 2026

Karachi, Pakistan  The National Forum for Environment and Health (NFEH) organized a comprehensive World Environment Day Seminar 2026 under the theme “Inspired by Nature: For Climate, For Our Future,” bringing together environmental experts, policymakers, business leaders, academics, journalists, civil society representatives, and youth advocates to discuss Pakistan's pressing environmental challenges and sustainable solutions.

The event highlighted the urgent need for collective action to address climate change, environmental degradation, deforestation, pollution, waste management, and sustainable urban development. Participants emphasized that environmental protection is not solely the responsibility of governments but requires active engagement from businesses, institutions, communities, and individual citizens.

A key highlight of the seminar was the inauguration of “Planet Voice,” a new digital environmental magazine launched by Green Media Initiatives (GMI) under the supervision of its Chief Executive Officer, Shabina Faraz. The magazine aims to amplify environmental awareness, climate journalism, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable development narratives through digital media and storytelling.

In his opening remarks, Naeem Qureshi, President of NFEH, reflected on the organization's environmental advocacy journey since its establishment in 1999 and stressed the importance of addressing unresolved environmental challenges through collaboration among government institutions, civil society organizations, and the private sector.

In a significant step toward strengthening environmental awareness and climate communication in Pakistan, Green Media Initiatives (GMI) officially launched its digital environmental magazine, “Planet Voice,” on the occasion of World Environment Day 2026.

Launched under the supervision of Shabina Faraz, Chief Executive Officer of Green Media Initiatives, Planet Voice aims to serve as a dedicated platform for environmental journalism, climate storytelling, biodiversity conservation, sustainable development, and community-driven environmental action.

Speaking on the occasion, Shabina Faraz emphasized the critical role of media in addressing environmental challenges and promoting informed public discourse on climate change and sustainability.

“Environmental issues affect every aspect of our lives, yet many important stories remain unheard. Through Planet Voice, we aim to amplify voices from communities, researchers, environmental practitioners, and young climate advocates while promoting solutions-oriented journalism that inspires action and positive change,” she said.

The magazine will feature in-depth reports, investigative stories, expert opinions, interviews, documentaries, photo essays, community initiatives, and educational content covering a wide range of environmental topics, including climate change, biodiversity, water conservation, renewable energy, pollution, sustainable cities, and ecological restoration.

The launch of Planet Voice reflects Green Media Initiatives’ commitment to using digital media as a tool for environmental education, advocacy, and public engagement. The platform seeks to bridge the gap between scientific knowledge, policy discussions, and community experiences, making environmental information accessible to a broader audience.

Environmental experts attending the launch welcomed the initiative and highlighted the growing need for specialized environmental journalism in Pakistan, particularly as the country faces increasing climate-related challenges, including heatwaves, floods, water scarcity, pollution, and biodiversity loss.

Delivering insightful remarks on the occasion of World Environment Day, Consultant Ecologist & Natural Resources Management Specialist Rafi-ul Haq emphasized that protecting nature is not a choice but a responsibility. He stated that healthy ecosystems, clean water, fertile soils, and rich biodiversity form the foundation of sustainable development and human well-being. He urged everyone to work together to conserve natural resources, reduce pollution, and restore degraded environments for future generations. Every action, no matter how small, contributes to a healthier and more resilient planet. Through collaborative partnerships with environmental organizations, academic institutions, researchers, journalists, and youth networks, Planet Voice aims to become a leading source of credible environmental information and a catalyst for environmental action across Pakistan.

As the world commemorates World Environment Day under the global call for sustainable living and environmental stewardship, the launch of Planet Voice marks a new chapter in promoting environmental awareness, responsible citizenship, and climate resilience through impactful storytelling.
