KARACHI: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has raided a call centre in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Johar area and arrested several individuals, including two owners of the facility.
According to the NCCIA, the suspects allegedly posed as foreign bank officials and obtained sensitive information from citizens over the phone.
The agency’s spokesperson said the suspects allegedly collected debit and credit card details from citizens as part of a suspected fraudulent scheme.
During the operation, the NCCIA recovered several laptops and mobile phones from the call centre and registered a case against the suspects.
The agency said a search operation is underway to arrest other individuals allegedly involved in the scheme.
