Thatta/ Gadho/ Baghan A feet march organized by the Awami Tehreek, stretching from Baghan to Gardho, vehemently opposing the auction of 1.3 million acres of land in Sindh In the guise of an agricultural revolution and corporate farming and the encroachment upon vital areas such as Kenjhar, Haliji Lake, Kohistan, Bhanbhor, and the coastal regions. A significant turnout marked the ten-kilometer foot march, where a diverse group, including women, children, youth, farmers and locals affected by the issue, alongside dedicated workers of the Awami Tahreek, actively participated. Notably, even innocent children joined the symbolic journey, holding placards advocating for justice and an end to land occupation. Throughout the march, participants raised loud slogans, such as "Stop Land Grabbing," "Deny Corporate Farming," "Stop Terrorism," "Stop Kenjhar Auction" and "Stop Karunjhar Auction." They call to endorse corporate farming and stop forcing out the farmers in the name of falsehoods agricultural revolution. The Awami Tehreek emphasized that land grabbing poses a significant threat to the existence of Sindh. Slogans like "Noori and Jam Tamachi's Kenjhar will not allow to be captured" echoed the sentiment of resistance. Expressing concern, the Awami Tehreek stated, "The country is being pushed back to 1971 conditions." They vowed not to allow Muhammad Ali Jinnah's vision of a secular and democratic Pakistan to become an establishment state. The march, spearheaded by Awami Tehreek Central President Lal Jarwar, Central General Secretary Noor Ahmed Katiyar, Central Vice President Hoor Nisa Plajo, Matha Khan Lashari, Ghanwar Khan Zaur, Sindhiani Tehreek leader Salma Lashari, Razak Chandio, Advocate Raheel Bhutto, Bilawal Lashari, Atif Mallah, Ghulam Ali Zaur, Riaz Abbasi, Shah Muhammad Chang, Zahida Lashari, Samina Lashari, Sunila Plajo, Zoya Plajo, Aslam Samo, and others, attracted a diverse group of participants. A large number of women and children, youth, farmers, local affected people and Awami Tahreek activists participated in the foot march. Innocent children also participated in the march with placards. Stop land grabbing, stop the Sindh occupation, corporate farming disallowed, fake agrarian revolution disapproved, stop terrorism, stop expropriation, stop auction of Kenjhar, stop auction of Karunjhar were raised loud slogans in the march. Addressing the march, Awami Tehreek Central President Lal Jarwar said that the rulers of the country have distorted the secular and democratic Pakistan of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. The rulers did not learn any lesson from the 1971 incident. The lands of Bengalis were captured. Their resources and lands were looted but the rulers did not accept the Bengali people. He said that local people are being forced out by occupying the lands of Thatta district of Sindh. PPP sold thousands of thousand acres of land in Thatta district to international companies during its government. He added that People's Party rulers created fake documents and auctioned the lands. Millions of acres of land have been illegally acquired for various residential schemes including Bahria Town, Zulfiqarabad, and DHA City. He said that the K_ Four project on Kenjhar Lake is the death warrant of Kenjhar Lake. The K4 project will divert all the water from Kenjhar Lake to illegally constructed housing schemes and supply water to illegal housing schemes by depriving local people of Kenjhar water. The rulers have attacked Sindh's national identity by destroying Sindh's natural lakes and tourist and cultural sites. The rulers of Sindh have no constitutional authority to auction the lands and resources of Sindh. The resources, lands and places of Sindh are the national property of Sindh. Noor Ahmed Katiyar said that the people of Sindh will not tolerate land occupation in any case. Grabbing the lands of Sindh in the name of agricultural revolution is an attack on the existence of Sindh. The Supreme Court is silent on the auction of 4.4million acres of land in the name of an agricultural revolution. Millions of farmers in the country will become unemployed due to land grabbing. Those who bankrupted the country by taking loans from international imperialist institutions should be held accountable. Hoor-Nisa Plajo said that Noori and Jam Tamachi's Kenjhar will not allow to be captured. The people of Sindh will fight hard against land grabbing. Mitha Khan Lashari said that the coastal area is being occupied. Corporate agricultural farming is an attack on Sindh.
