Karachi: On the directives of Deputy Commissioner of South
Karachi, Captain (R) Altaf Hussain Sario, the DC South Office issued a comprehensive report from 1st to
30th November 2023 regarding daily price checking and actions taken against
violators.
The report, released
by a DC office comprising Assistant Commissioners, Magistrates, and price
checking Officers, reveals that 601 cases were reported in month November,
resulting in fines total amount of 5,298,500 were imposed against profiteers
and hoarders.
According to the report, 72 cases were reported in South
Karachi's division Civil Lines and fines amounting 1,455,000 were imposed. In
Saddar, 111 cases were reported with fines of Rs 1,047,000, while 82 cases in
Garden resulted in fines Rs 837,000. Furthermore, 168 cases were reported in
shops of Aram Bagh, resulting in fines of Rs 1,118,000 while in Lyari 168 cases
were reported with fines Rs 841,500.
In various operations three person had also been apprehended
against violation of rules. In addition, the report highlights actions taken
during inspections the fines Rs 114,000
were imposed on 15 LPGs shops across various sub-divisions of South Karachi.

the ACs and administrators of all divisions to ensure the essential commodities
for people at official fixed rates and to continue the actions against
profiteers and hoarders.
Officers of DC office said that operations are carried out on
a daily basis to ensure the providing essential commodities to people at the
rates set by the government.
