More than 200 employees unemployed Talon News was also closed
An on-air TV channel from Lahore which was launched last year.
Talon's management has said in their statement on social media that they
are announcing the closure of the channel with great sadness. According to the
administration, one-and-a-half-month salary will be issued to all the employees
today on March 14.
Chaudhry Salim Briar, the owner of Talen from Sialkot, was worried for a
long time due to the lack of business of the channel.
Yusuf Baig Mirza YBM was overseeing this project.
Talon was closed at a time when the public is considering downsizing and
salary cuts. Journalist organizations have condemned the closure of the channel
and have demanded that Pemra must see the budget of the channel owners for at
least three years before granting the license.
