Teachers across Sindh showed Solidarity with Faculty Members of Sindh Agriculture University Tandojam In response to the 'Black Day' call issued by the Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association (FAPUASA) Sindh Chapter, solemnly observed a "Black Day" at different Universities across the Sindh province including, University of Karachi, Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU), Layari University, Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur, Mehran University of Engineering & Technology Jamshoro, Sindh University Jamshoro, The University of Larkano, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University, Nawabshah, Government College University, Hyderabad, Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University of Technology and Skill Development Khairpur and others.
They stand in solidarity with the faculty members of Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam, expressing grieve concern over the recent events. During the commemoration, they emphasized the paramount importance of maintaining integrity and fairness in all academic pursuits. The association strongly criticizes the apparent lack of seriousness from the Vice-Chancellor of Sindh Agriculture University Tandojam in addressing the issues faced by faculty members. These Teachers Associations strongly demands the immediate fulfillment of several long-awaited demands of the Sindh Agriculture University Teachers Association (SAUTA) without any further delay: Immediate convening of the selection board for the year 2021, Fresh advertisement of teaching vacancies for eligible faculty members, Payment of differentials owed to faculty members, settlement of remuneration bills dating back to 2018, payment of telephone allowances for the past 12 months, Settlement of orderly allowance differences spanning 20 months, Payment of leave encasements accrued over the past 5 years. They also demanded immediate action regarding faculty members associated with Khairpur College of Agriculture Engineering, Khairpur, and Sub-Campus Umerkot. The association demands: Immediate Regularization of Faculty Members, Permission for Conducting Higher Studies, Strengthening of Infrastructures, and Appointment on Vacant Positions. These associations urge the Vice-Chancellor of Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam, to recognize and uphold the legitimate rights of the teaching community without further delay. The association remains steadfast in its commitment to advocating for fairness, transparency, and accountability within the academic realm.
