The matter of the details of the foreign visits of
members of the National Assembly from 2018 to 2022 at official expense. The
citizen filed an appeal in the Supreme Court against the decision of the Sindh
High Court.
In the petition filed in the Supreme Court Karachi
Registry, the stand has been taken that access to information is a fundamental
right of every Pakistani citizen. A request for details was filed in the
National Assembly on March 11, 2022.
I also asked for the details of the privileges of the
Speaker and the Deputy Speaker. The Pakistan Information Commission ordered the
Speaker to provide the information to the National Assembly, but the National
Assembly did not respond to my request. Approached the Sindh High Court to
implement the decision, but the application was rejected.
