deposits of oil and gas have been discovered in Ghotki district of Sindh.
Mari Petroleum
has announced a new discovery of oil and gas in the country, it has been
reported that the new discovery was made in Dharki area of Sindh.
Mari Petroleum
has discovered significant oil reserves in well Shoal-1 of Marifield.
Initially, the new discovery will yield 2.5 million cubic feet of gas per day
and 1040 barrels of crude oil per day.
It should be
noted that the work on Shawwal-1 was started from January 27, 2024. The well
was successfully drilled to a depth of 1,136 meters. MPCL MD Faheem Haider
termed the new discovery as a remarkable achievement for the company's
geoscientists and engineers.
Last week too,
Mari Petroleum discovered gas from Deharki.
Apart from this,
12 lakh 40 thousand standard cubic meters of gas was found in Sajawal. Earlier
in February, it was announced that 14.3 million standard cubic feet of gas per
day was obtained from the discovered reserves in Khairpur district.
