Sindh Unveils Sindh Youth Club with Dynamic Programs to Empower Youth

Karachi The Sindh Government has announced the transformation of the Youth Development Center into the Sindh Youth Club and has decided to launch programs such as Youth Citizen Journalist, International Exchange, Digital Skill Training, and Youth Emerging Star.
Sindh’s Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Sardar Muhammad Bux Mahar, stated that the Department of Sports is converting the Youth Development Center into the Sindh Youth Club. He also announced initiatives like the Youth Citizen Journalist program, International Exchange programs, Digital Skill Training, and the Youth Emerging Star Program. Additionally, sports events will be organized at the Union Council and District levels.
The minister expressed these views while speaking to the media during his visit on the final day of the Youth Gala Festival organized by the Sports Department. He further elaborated that the Sindh Youth Club will include facilities such as a library, an e-library, a freelancer nest, a podcast studio, and other sports activities.
He highlighted that the Sports Department is also providing CSS preparation and computer training to the youth. So far, 2,721 young individuals have been trained in various sports, and 2,679 more will be trained. Sardar Muhammad Bux Mahar stated that the department plans to provide training to an additional 4,200 young individuals in sports-related activities.
The minister described the Youth Gala as an opportunity for young people to showcase and develop their talents in different fields. He emphasized that the festival also enables youth to connect with one another and build new networks.
According to the minister, Sindh has immense talent in sports, and the importance of sports for the youth cannot be overlooked. He stressed the need to encourage young individuals to engage in sports, which can help them create a better future. He also pointed out that sports play a crucial role in protecting youth from negative activities.
The Sindh Government plans to initiate sports events at the district and council levels and is preparing to host the National Games in Karachi in February, with the Mayor of Karachi onboard.
In response to a question, Sardar Muhammad Bux Mahar stated that sports events will also be organized in schools and colleges. He added that the Sindh Government is working on the Sindh Sports Board to ensure that grounds are accessible to the youth. He assured that any encroachments or illegal activities, such as land-grabbing or China-cutting on sports fields, will be addressed.
On another note, Sardar Muhammad Bux Mahar, along with Sports Secretary Abdul Aleem Lashari, attended the three-day Youth Gala Festival organized by the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs. The event featured competitions in badminton, table tennis, snooker, carrom board, taekwondo, and archery. The festival concluded with a musical event, which was attended by a large number of youth and citizens.
