Awami Tehreek Slams Sindh Govt Over Retaliation Against Babarlo Sit-in Supporters!"

Hyderabad Awami Tehreek’s central leadership has strongly condemned the Sindh government for allegedly targeting lawyers, social activists, and members of the Jatoi community involved in the Babarlo sit-in. Senior leaders, including Advocate Vasand Thari, Advocate Sajid Hussain Mahesar, Advocate Raheel Bhutto, and Advocate Ayaz Kaloi, criticized the PPP government, calling its actions dictatorial and unjust.
The leadership asserted that the Babarlo sit-in was not just a lawyer-led movement but a collective struggle of Sindh’s farmers, traders, teachers, writers, poets, journalists, and activists. They accused the provincial government of trying to suppress peaceful democratic dissent and warned of strong resistance against such tactics.
Furthermore, Awami Tehreek voiced concerns over PPP policies regarding Sindh’s canals and agricultural land, stating that massive portions had been allocated to foreign entities under corporate farming and public-private partnerships. They reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding Sindh’s resources and continuing the struggle against controversial policies affecting the province’s land and water rights.
