Pakistan's Diplomatic Push: Bilawal Bhutto Leads Delegation to Global Meetings
A 9-member Pakistani delegation, led by Bilawal Bhutto, is set to begin key meetings in New York today. According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the delegation—on the Prime Minister’s directives—will also visit Washington, London, and Brussels.
Simultaneously, another delegation headed by Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi is departing for Moscow. The primary goal of these diplomatic efforts is to highlight Pakistan's stance on Indian aggression on the global stage, emphasizing the significance of international cooperation in fostering lasting peace in South Asia.
The delegation will brief the United Nations on civilian casualties resulting from Indian attacks and water-related aggression, while also pushing for the restoration of the Indus Waters Treaty. Senior leaders including Sherry Rehman, Hina Rabbani Khar, Jalil Abbas Jilani, and Musadik Malik are part of this mission, along with Khurram Dastgir, Faisal Sabzwari, Bushra Anjum Butt, and Tehmina Janjua.
The delegation is scheduled to meet UN Secretary-General, the President of the General Assembly, and various diplomats. Additionally, discussions with representatives from the OIC and neutral nations are planned.
Bilawal Bhutto, Chairman of the Pakistan People's Party, will address overseas Pakistanis at a reception where U.S. foreign policy experts will also be present. The delegation will further engage with ambassadors from the five permanent and nine non-permanent members of the Security Council, as well as officials from China and Russia at the UN.
