Pakistan's Economic Reforms: PM Shehbaz Sharif's Commitment to Stability
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a meeting in Islamabad to review matters related to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). He directed authorities to seek the expertise of internationally renowned companies for third-party validation.
Expressing his vision for a strong and stable global economy, the PM emphasized that institutional reforms across all sectors are progressing rapidly. He praised government departments for their relentless efforts and acknowledged their contributions to eliminating corruption.
Highlighting positive economic indicators, Shehbaz Sharif stated that they are a testament to the government's policies moving in the right direction. He also expressed satisfaction with the recent performance of the faceless customs assessment system, reinforcing its role in ensuring transparency.
During the meeting, officials provided updates on reforms within Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited (PRAL), noting that the implementation of the faceless customs assessment system has significantly increased revenue. The PM was briefed that the ongoing reform process is advancing swiftly, and a user-friendly digital tax return system will soon be introduced for the general public.
