International Day of MSMEs 2025 Celebrated Across Balochistan: Spotlight on Local Enterprise Power

Quetta, July 4: Marking the International Day of Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs), communities across nine districts of Balochistan came together to celebrate the ingenuity and resilience of local businesses. Supported by the European Union in Pakistan, the event series was organized under the Growth for Rural Advancement and Sustainable Progress (GRASP) programme.

Organized by the International Trade Centre (ITC) in collaboration with the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund, the celebrations brought government officials, civil society representatives, chambers of commerce, and the agriculture sector to one table — building bridges between policy and practice.

Marketplaces Came Alive From pop-up booths to cultural showcases, the districts transformed into lively business arenas where entrepreneurs had the opportunity to exhibit their products, network with stakeholders, and share success stories. These events not only empowered small and medium enterprises (SMEs) but also invigorated community-level economic activity.

Purpose and Promise The initiative highlighted MSMEs’ pivotal role in sustainable development, especially in rural and underserved areas like Balochistan. Stakeholders emphasized continued collaboration and policy support to help MSMEs thrive in the region’s unique economic landscape.

This celebration serves as a powerful reminder: resilient local businesses are the heartbeat of inclusive growth.
