ICC Suspends USA Cricket Membership Over Governance Failures

Dubai: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially suspended the membership of USA Cricket due to repeated violations and failure to uphold commitments and assurances made to the global governing body.

According to the ICC, the suspension was imposed after USA Cricket consistently failed to implement a proper governance structure and did not fulfill its responsibilities despite being given ample time. “USA Cricket was granted one year during the 2024 Annual General Meeting to rectify its affairs, but it failed to meet the expectations,” the ICC stated.

The ICC Normalization Committee will now oversee the affairs of USA Cricket to ensure compliance and stability. The council cited persistent breaches by the USA Cricket Board and its inability to enforce good governance practices as key reasons for the suspension.

Despite the suspension, the ICC confirmed that the United States national teams will retain their eligibility to participate in ICC events, including preparations for the 2028 Olympic Games.
