Sukkur (H.O) Divisional Commissioner Sukkur Division, Abid Saleem Qureshi, inaugurated a basketball tournament organized in collaboration with the Provincial Sports Department and the Sindh Basketball Association at the Physical Education College, Sukkur. The ceremony was attended by Director Sports Karachi Ghulam Muhammad Khan, Divisional Secretary Athletics Taj Muhammad Mahar, Principal of the College of Physical Education Sukkur Amjad Channa, basketball secretaries from Sukkur, Larkana, and Karachi, along with other prominent sports personalities, athletes, and relevant officers from the sports department.
Addressing the opening ceremony of the basketball tournament, Commissioner Sukkur Division Abid Saleem Qureshi appreciated the holding of the tournament's opening matches in Sukkur. He stated that the basketball tournament would help promote sports in the Sukkur region, and sports provide youth with an opportunity to express their talent. He said that the Sindh government is committed to promoting sports. The basketball is a healthy sport, he added.
Director Sports Karachi Ghulam Muhammad Khan informed that the tournament matches are being inaugurated in Sukkur in collaboration with the Sindh Sports Department and the Sindh Basketball Association, while the closing ceremony will be held in Karachi on 9th November. He mentioned that today in Sukkur, the boys' teams from Sukkur and Larkana will compete in exhibition matches of the tournament.
On this occasion, other organizers of the basketball tournament said that this time in Sindh province, the basketball tournament is being held after a gap of 8 years.
