Mines Department Cancels 124-Acre Sukkur Mining Permit Following Illegal Cutting of Kalka Devi Temple Hill



Chief Secretary Sindh Asif Hyder Shah has taken strict notice of the illegal cutting of the sacred hill near Kalka Devi Temple located in Arror, Rohri, district Sukkur. As per notification the Mines and Mineral Development Department has immediately cancelled the mining permit spanning 124 acres in the limestone plateau area of Rohri. Sindh Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah has directed strict legal action against those involved in the unlawful activity of hill cutting at the Hindu sacred religious site. 


Following the directives of the Chief Secretary, the Deputy Director Mines Sukkur, along with the Assistant Commissioner Rohri, sealed the premises of the leaseholder near Kalka Devi Temple, as the mining lease had already been revoked. The Chief Secretary reiterated that all relevant departments must ensure vigilant monitoring of such areas to prevent any future illegal mining or encroachment activities.
