Dawn News Urdu Website to Shut Down; Employees to Be Laid Off on December 6

Karachi: The wave of layoffs in media houses continues unabated. After 37 employees were let go from Nukta Pakistan and 50 from GTV, it's now Dawn News' turn.

According to sources, the management has announced that Dawn News Urdu website will be shut down starting December 2025, and therefore, the services of all employees working on the website are no longer required.

All website staff are currently serving their notice period and will be officially laid off after December 6, 2025. This decision is reportedly part of broader financial and structural changes within the media industry.
