Sindh to build world’s largest centre for special Children: Saeed Ghani

Sindh Minister for Labour, Human Resources and Social Protection, and President of the Pakistan Peoples Party Karachi Division, Saeed Ghani, has announced that the Sindh government is set to establish the world’s largest centre for special children near Shahrah-e-Zulfikar Ali Bhutto in Karachi.
Speaking as the chief guest at an event organised by Darul Sukun at a local hotel to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on Thursday, Ghani said that many special persons remain unaware of their basic rights, adding that such individuals deserve greater entitlement from society than the average citizen.
The ceremony was also addressed by DPEP Secretary Taha Ahmed Farooqui, Darul Sukun’s CEO, and others.
Ghani shared that Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah was scheduled to attend the ceremony but could not make it due to an important meeting in Islamabad.
Saeed Ghani reiterated that the Sindh government is developing not just Pakistan’s, but the world’s biggest centre for special children, to be constructed on 75 acres of land along Shahrah-e-Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
He described the project as a “city” dedicated to those who require society’s utmost attention.
He noted that many special persons cannot articulate their difficulties and often do not know their rights. “Their right over us is greater than that of ordinary citizens,” he emphasised.
Ghani acknowledged that various institutions in Karachi are working for the welfare of special persons and affirmed that the Sindh government is extending maximum support to such organisations.
He praised individuals and institutions serving people with disabilities, calling them “the finest human beings”.
He warmly congratulated the founders of Darul Sukun and its current team for establishing an institution that is presently caring for more than 700 special children and over 100 elderly residents in Karachi.
