In Karachi, 9,686 incidents of street crime were reported during the first two months of this year.
According to the CPLC report, in February alone, 2,726 motorcycles and 143 cars were stolen. At gunpoint, 1,237 mobile phones, 452 motorcycles, and 22 cars were snatched. No bank robbery was reported during the month. The report further states that 40 cases of murder were recorded in February, along with 27 incidents of extortion and one case of kidnapping for ransom.
