Karachi Swaminarayan Temple Hosts Mass Wedding Ceremony

Karachi (May 8, 2026) — A grand “Samuhik Vivah Utsav” (mass wedding ceremony) was organized under the banner of the Kutchi Maheshwari League at the historic Swaminarayan Temple in Karachi. The event was graced by Dr. Sham Sundar Advani, Member of the Sindh Assembly, senior leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party, and Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Sindh on Minority Affairs, who attended as the chief guest.
On this occasion, Dr. Advani distributed financial assistance cheques from the Sindh Government’s Minority Affairs Department to 14 newlywed couples as a gesture of goodwill and support.

The ceremony was attended by the parents and relatives of the brides and grooms, respected members of the Maheshwari community, social and political figures, as well as Maharaj Ram Nath Mishra, former MPA Mangla Sharma, Mahesh Raja Manglani, Jawahar Lal Advani, and other notable guests.
Dr. Advani’s Address
In his speech, Dr. Advani extended heartfelt congratulations on behalf of the PPP leadership, the Chief Minister of Sindh, and the Minority Affairs Department to the newlyweds, wishing them prosperous and successful married lives.
He praised the organizers — including Velji Maheshwari, Laxman Dhera Maheshwari, Kishore Asmal Maheshwari, Suresh Maheshwari, Mukesh Maheshwari, Krishan Hari Seju, Narayan Dhera, Bawa Dheda, Veeram Amna, Deepak Badiya, Suresh Amna, Nirmal Danicha, Subash Maheshwari, Sagar Maheshwari, Mukesh Bachra and their team — for arranging such a purposeful and successful event.
Dr. Advani remarked:
“These brides are not only the daughters of their parents but also my daughters. I am confident that wherever they go, they will bring love, prosperity, and progress to their new homes.”
He emphasized that the PPP leadership and the Sindh Government have always stood by minority communities in both joyous and challenging times. The financial support extended to the brides is a clear reflection of the government’s minority-friendly policies and commitment to service.
Dr. Advani once again congratulated the Kutchi Maheshwari League team, encouraging them to continue their noble work with the same spirit of service. He assured that the Minority Affairs Department will always stand alongside them with full cooperation.
