KARACHI: Extremely Low Chances of Sighting Muharram Moon on June 15, Says SUPARCO
SUPARCO has predicted that there are extremely low chances of sighting the Muharram moon on June 15, making it highly expected that the 1st of Muharram 1448 AH will fall on Wednesday, June 17. According to the declaration, the new moon will be born at 7:54 AM on June 15, and its age at sunset will be only 11 hours and 50 minutes. In coastal areas, the time difference between sunset and moonset is expected to be 40 minutes. SUPARCO clarified that the final decision regarding the sighting of the new Islamic year's moon will be announced by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
