A joint operation, codenamed Operation Shaban, involving the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC), and Balochistan Police is continuing following the attack on the Mangi Dam Police Station.
According to security sources, security forces had already killed 26 militants affiliated with Fitna al-Khawarij during operations conducted on July 6 and 7.

During the past 24 hours, 13 more militants were killed, raising the total number of militants eliminated in Operation Shaban to 39, security sources added.
Apart from Operation Shaban, security sources said that an attack on a police station in Khuzdar's Zehri area was successfully repelled. In a swift response by Army and FC troops, eight militants were confirmed killed.
Security sources further stated that five to six additional militants are also reported to have been killed in helicopter operations.
Since July 5, a total of 75 militants have been killed in Operation Shaban and other intelligence-based operations, according to security sources.
