Suspect Killed in Alleged Police Encounter Hours After Targeted Killing in Karachi

Karachi: Police have claimed to have killed the main suspect in an alleged encounter just hours after a targeted killing in Karachi's Dalmia area.
According to police officials, District East Police tracked the suspect, identified as Ayaz alias "KK," near Rabia City following the fatal shooting of a man identified as Asim alias "Chhotay Khan."
Police said the suspect fled the scene after the killing, allegedly taking the victim's pistol with him. Investigators further claimed that before carrying out the targeted killing, the suspect had snatched a motorcycle.
According to the police, officers located the suspect near Rabia City in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, where he allegedly opened fire on the police team. Officers returned fire, killing the suspect during the exchange.
Police said they recovered the suspect's weapon as well as the pistol allegedly taken from the victim after the shooting.
The incident and the police's version of events are under investigation.
