Murad urges new PCB members to get Niaz Stadium functional for PSL

KARACHI The new members of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Zaheer Pitafi, Khurram Soomro, and Kaleemullah called on here at CM House and discussed the overall promotion of local cricket in the province and the upgradation of Niaz Stadium.
The CM congratulated the new members of the PCB Board and urged them to bring in some matches of the Asia Cup to Karachi and play their due role in bringing PSL matches to Niaz Stadium Hyderabad.
The members assured the chief minister that they would take up his proposal in the PCB Board. It was also agreed that the Karachi Stadium also needed to be upgraded. The CM said that he had helped the PCB to develop the Karachi stadium and now it needed to make it a stadium of an international standard.
Murad Ali Shah said that the cricket player from Sindh should also be given a chance in playing international matches. He added that the rural areas of the province have introduced good players, but they need chances so that their talent may flourish further.
PCB Member Zaheer Pitafi told the chief minister that he would make efforts to develop local clubs in rural areas of the province. “For this purpose, the PCB would be requested to support local clubs so that more talent could be developed,” he said. Mr. Pitafi said that the PCB was considering sending a special team to rural areas to hunt new talent.
The Chief Minister said that the province of Sindh was rich in talent but what they needed was support, patronage, and proper guidance. “The Sindh government would support the PCB if it embarked on hunting talent from rural areas of the province,” he said.
