Former President Asif Ali Zardari
has shared his insights on the upcoming 2024 general elections, predicting that
no single party would secure a majority of 172 seats in the National
Assembly.

for New Leadership
While Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, the
Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), campaigns vigorously, Zardari acknowledges
his son's talent but labels him as "inexperienced." Despite Bilawal's
calls for the older generation to step aside and make way for the new, Zardari
highlights the importance of political seasoning and suggests that Bilawal's
experience will evolve over time.
In his rallies, Bilawal has
criticized old politicians, referring to them as "babay." Zardari,
however, defends the new generation's right to express itself and acknowledges
the generational gap in perspectives. He emphasizes that interventions in the
affairs of the younger generation could lead to more chaos.

Reflecting on his past leadership
and the experience with the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM)-led coalition
government, Zardari expresses support for a collaborative approach. He commends
Shehbaz Sharif's dedication during their previous stint but notes that the
experience was challenging. Zardari suggests that alliances with various
parties and individuals may be a more viable option than a single-party
government.
In a surprising revelation, Zardari
discloses that the Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) offered six
ministries to the PPP to join its government, seeking a
"minus-Zardari" alliance. Zardari approves of the decision to oust
Imran Khan through a no-confidence motion, citing Pakistan's isolation and
economic challenges under the PTI government.
