trapped in a net.
According
to WWF Pakistan technical advisor Moazzam Khan, this is the first time that a
large sperm whale has been caught in a fisherman's net.
It
was a subsurface net introduced by WWF Pakistan.
This
net allowed dolphins and small whales to pass through without entanglement.
According to Muzam Khan, the length of the sperm whale was about 30 feet. Quite
a length. Due to this, the sperm whale could not cross the net.
After
half an hour of effort, fisherman Captain Muhammad Shafiullah cut 500 meters of
net and released the sperm whale.
The
sperm whale is one of the four largest whales in Pakistan.
