Travel Advisory in Foggy Conditions
The
motorway police spokesperson issued a travel advisory, urging commuters to
avoid unnecessary travel during this foggy spell. For those who must venture
out, the spokesperson recommended the use of front and back fog lights to
enhance visibility and reduce the risk of accidents. Additionally, citizens
were advised to schedule their journeys between 10 am to 6 pm, aiming for
daylight hours to minimize the hazards associated with foggy conditions.
Last week
witnessed the closure of the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway, further exacerbating
the traffic situation. The Lahore Chief Traffic Officer (CTO), Ammara Ather,
responded promptly by deploying additional personnel and instructing circle
police officers to monitor internal and external routes.
Traffic Management Measures Implemented
CTO Lahore
acknowledged the increased traffic load within the city due to the Motorway
closure and directed traffic officers to utilize reflectors and flasher lights
as essential indicators for drivers navigating through the fog.
